Fernandez-Sison tandem tops 31st Bill Shaw Golf Classic at Wack Wack

THE duo of Paulino Fernandez and Gene Sison emerged overall champion in the 31st Bill Shaw Golf Classic on January 29 to February 1 at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyon­g City.

Fernandez and Sison, with a team handicap of 32, combined for 132 via rounds of 44 and 88.

The pair of Oliver Gan and Rianne Malixi, meanwhile, claimed the lowest gross plum with a 308 total.

Brainard Hao and Edmund Hao topped Division 1 with a 119 (44-75) followed by Joey Qua and Raymond Lacdao with a 117 (40-77).

Lutgardo Cruz and John Frederick Cruz finished with a 128 (44-84) to top Division II, beating Richard Ng and Jasper Ong’s 125 (44-81).

Wilson Ng and Edgar Allan Pasion ruled Division III with a team total of 128 (4484), winning via lower handicap (39 vs 56) against the team of Pierry Paul Chua and Eric del Rosario.

Benjamin Abalos Sr. and Zaldy Carpeso sizzled with a 132 in the Senior’s I Division, defeating the tandem of Jesus Fernando and Edwin Abella’s 130 by two strokes.

Reuben Lista and Gaudencio Morales finished with a 130 to clinch the Senior’s II Division plum followed by David Cheu and George Cheu with a 125.

Jose Roman Ozaeta, on the other hand, aced the 165- yard East hole No. 8 using a Tour B JGR Hybrid 4 and a Taylor Made 77 ball.

Ozaeta, chairman of the Golf and Sports Committee of the Baguio Country Club, received a brand new Lexus UX 200 F Sport/ Graphite Black on White color worth P3.108 million from Lexus Manila, Inc.
