TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan: The Department of Health (DoH) Regional Office 2 has confirmed two more cases in Cagayan province on Thursday.

DoH RO2 OIC Director III Leticia Cabrera said that they are PH661, a 39-year-old male from Tuao, Cagayan and PH662, a 70-year-old male from Gattaran, Cagayan.

Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao, Cagayan Valley Medical Center and (CVMC) Medical Center Chief II, told the ManilaTimes on Thursday that the Tuao resident, listed as patient No. PH661, had been working as a security guard at Global City in Taguig.

The Tuao patient was taken with swab on March 20 and the positive result from the RITM came on March 25, he added.

“Those who had contacts with him must seek consultation now so that they can be quarantined, if needed, or symptomatic, we have to isolate them,” he added.

DoH Cagayan Valley Center for Health and Development and Jan Tugadi, epidemiologist of DoH-Region 2, have confirmed the cases in a Thursday online news briefing in Cagayan.

Cabrera said Patient No. PH662, a 70-year-old man in Gattaran town, had been on self-quarantine after suffering from fever and cough on March 12.

After consulting with the Cagayan Valley Medical Center doctors, he was taken swab samples on March 18 and the result, which turned out positive, was released on March 25.

Tugadi said they have been reintensifying too contact tracing for the initial patient, PH275-positive, a fireman working in Santa Mesa in Manila and from Tuguegarao City. He said that 43 out of 49 passengers were found all normal with one with a mild condition but they have been quarantined.

“As to his direct contacts they are stable while the wife and mother had contacts with them were taken swab samples and the results are being waited,” Tugadi said.

Dr. Baggao said PH275 has been stable at the CVMC since the result had come out. He had no fever and cough but he is being quarantined.
