UP employees get financial aid early

THE University of the Philippines ( UP) has released additional financial support for its members in light of the enhanced community quarantine implemented in Luzon.

UP President Danilo Concepcion said faculty members, and research, extension and professional staff (REPS) and administrative staff would receive the first tranche of a rice allowance for 2020 amounting to P2,350 each.

“The first tranche of the Annual Incentive Grant (AIG) for FY (fiscal year) 2020 for each UP faculty, administrative employee and REPS has also been released early,” UP Executive Vice President Teodoro Herbosa said in a memorandum.

He added that regular and non- regular UP faculty, REPS and administrative staff in active service, who had or would have rendered at least four months of service as of May 31, 2020, would be granted P6,850 each, regardless of their salary grade and employment status.

He noted that this would include temporary, contractual, casual or substitute faculty and staff.

Newly hired faculty, REPS and administrative staff who had or would have served for at least one month but less than four months as of May 3, 2020, would receive a pro-rated share of the AIG, he said.

Those who rendered active service but were separated or expected to be separated from the university from January 1 to May 31, 2020, will also receive a pro-rated share.

Part-time faculty, REPS and administrative staff in service from Jan. 1 to May 31, 2020 will receive one-half of the benefits of full-time personnel.
