Mitsukoshi: A blend of traditional Japanese elements and modern design

-

JAPANESE design has always been synonymous with elegance, sophistication and craftsmanship. Even when it comes to creating retail spaces, the ability of the Japanese to seamlessly combine traditional elements with modern design cues is evident. This synergy can be seen in many of the highend stores in Ginza and Omotesando, two of the most renowned and forward-thinking spaces for upscale shopping in the world. It is also the inspiration behind Mitsukoshi, the famous Japanese retailer is now being constructed in Metro Manila’s most vibrant central business district.

Situated in Federal Land’s Grand Central Park in Bonifacio Global City, the Philippines’ first Mitsukoshi will become a premium commercial establishment where you can feel the distinct Japanese design elements in a casual but elegant setting.

True to its aim of providing an authentic Japanese shopping experience, Mitsukoshi’s supermarket will include a depachika or basement food shops, a signature feature of major retail establishments across Japan.

Since Japan has always been at the forefront of premier beauty products, cosmetics, and holistic care, Mitsukoshi brings the best collection the industry has to offer.

The master behind turning Mitsukoshi’s design philosophy to life is Shunsuke Saeki, the creative leader of Nomura Co., Ltd., one of Japan’s premier design and architectural firms.

Mitsukoshi is a collaboration between Nomura Real Estate Co., Ltd., Federal Land, Inc., and Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings, Ltd. It will anchor The Seasons Residences, a four-tower residential development that will introduce Japanese-style living to Bonifacio Global City. Mitsukoshi is set to open in 2021.
