ABS-CBN actress Angelica Panganiban surprised netizens when she uploaded part of her live chat with Hollywood actor Jared Leto on Wednesday.

It was Leto — best known for his portrayal as the Joker in 2016 film “Suicide Squad”— who went on Instagram live to talk his followers from all over the world in the hopes of comforting them amid the global coronavirus pandemic. The 48-year-old actor is in the US where lockdowns have also been declared across several states.

“I hope everybody out there is safe and sound wherever you are. We miss you guys. We are in lockdown and I am practicing social distancing over here. I hope you guys are too and best protect the people that you love,” Leto said.

“So I wanted to come and talk to you guys today and see how you are. It’s been a while since I(‘ve) spoken to people. As you know I came from a retreat and came back into this madness which was (a) pretty unique experience. I will go live with some people and see how you are,” he added.

Out of sheer luck, Panganiban — who had clicked on Leto’s live chat — was among the followers the American actor picked to talk to and their conversation went on for some three minutes.

“How is everything there? Have

you been guys quarantined? Are you at home now?,” Leto asked.

“Yes, we are in self quarantine because we traveled from Dubai. We shot a film in Dubai,” Panganiban replied.

Leto then asked if she was an actress and asked for her name.

Panganiban said yes and after giving her name, Leto replied, “I’m Jared.

Well I’m glad to hear you(‘ re) safe and sound and at home, and I hope everything’s okay from you guys back there. And I think with warm weather it’s good for everyone with places like the Philippines soon, we hope. But it’s nice to see you, you have an interesting voice. Your accent is hard to place.”

Clearly thrilled to be face to face with Leto, albeit on video call, Panganiban gushed, “It’s amazing to talk to you. It’s so surreal.”

Leto replied, “It’s surreal to talk to you too. It’s a pretty wild world.”

Also the lead vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and main songwriter for the rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars, Leto then said he missed playing in the Philippines. “Anyway, tell everybody in the Philippines we love them and we miss them. It’s been a long time since we played a concert there but we love your country and we love to come back. We hope that everybody stays at home. Be good and protect yourselves and be safe.” “Yes. You too, s t ay inside and be s a f e, ” Panganiban added.

“So grateful to talk to people from all over the world. It’s really good to see everybody and chat,” Leto said afterwards.

Panganiban’s friend, actor Thou Reyes who is also among the cast who shot in Dubai and on selfquarantine, was able to screen shot part of the conversation between Panganiban and Leto.

Uploading it on his Instagram Story, he wrote, “Madam, dinaan mo sat ula la eh! Kalakoka ya mo panindiganyung level level lang... bu mi gayk as a du lo eh .”

Panganiban was quick to reply, “4 a.m. levels. Jared Leto yaneh! Pa rang nag and a han pan gas a akin!Charot!”

It can be recalled that it was Leto’s performance as a transgender woman in “Dallas Buyers Club” in 2013 that cemented his status as top Hollywood actor, winning him an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting Actor.
