GET UP AND GET ON WITH AN AT-HOMEWORKOUT REGIMEN!
ADJUSTING to life at home when the community quarantine was imposed back in March was difficult for everyone. New schedules had to be made to keep household members’ spirits intact in an atmosphere of normalcy amid this most challenging time across the globe.
As expediently as it should, creating healthy habits has been the top priority carried out in homes, via spending time with loved ones, eating more fruits and vegetables and keeping the house clean. However, one of the most looked over but very important habits is physical exercise.
Besides maintaining a healthy weight, burning calories, strengthening bones and muscles, and boosting the immune system, exercise brings benefits more than one might think. A
reminder from the health website WebMD further says that working out also helps mental health and improves efficiency.
Now if you found it difficult in the last two months to get moving under quarantine, the time for excuses is over. Even if gyms and other places of exercise are still closed in this transition to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine.
The Covid- 19 pandemic will go on for as long as a vaccine hasn’t come out so exercising on your own at home has to be the new normal.
Today, TheManilaTimesLifestyle provides the answer to the “I don’t know how’s” of an athome-workout regimen, which is guaranteed to keep you strong and healthy as everyone waits for Covid-19 to be banished.
Got seven minutes?
You don’t have to sporty to start an at-home regimen.
A modified version of the more advanced “7 Minute Workout” can be a great way to begin your fitness journey, giving the body time to adjust. Easily done at home, each exercise should be done for at least 45 seconds to a minute, with equally timed breaks in between.
Some moves require yoga mats but you can easily use a rug or thick blanket to protect your knees and elbows. In addition, to help build the motivation to workout, get dressed in active wear for this routine to do away with any further excuses in getting it done. Lose those pajamas!
The seven 45-second exercises are as follows:
– Jog in place – Jumping jacks – Lunges – Squats – Pushups – Sit-ups – Planks
Over time, as your body adjusts to the routine, more time can be added for each exercise to pump up the energy.
Exercising is this simple. You just have to switch off Netflix, put away the chips and get moving!
