UV EXPRESS BACK ON THE ROAD IN CAVITE

BACOOR CITY, Cavite; Despite the continuing threat of the coronaviru­s in the country, drivers of 60 units of UV Express gathered at their terminal in Kabisig Cooperativ­e on Molino Boulevard here at 5 a. m. on Monday, the first day of the balik pasada ( return to the road) after 107 days of the lockdown caused by the enhanced community quarantine imposed on March 15, 2020

The Kabisig Cooperativ­e Terminal in Molino 3 (Bacoor City) to Alabang Terminal (Muntinlupa City), Springvill­e (Molino) to Alabang via Daanghari, Molino to Ayala Center (Makati City) via Skyway and Golden City ( Dasmariñas City) to Ayala Center routes are on the list of those that the Land Transporta­tion Franchisin­g and Regulatory Board authorized on Sunday.

Each terminal needs to comply with guidelines set by the national Inter- Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, namely the wearing of face masks, keeping seating capacity at 50 percent and performing temperatur­e scans.

The fares are as follows: Springvill­e to Alabang via Daanghari, P35; Molino ( Kabisig Terminal) to Alabang via Daanghari, P35; Molino to Ayala Center via Skyway, P60; and Golden City, Salawag to Ayala Center, P70.

One UV Express unit driver, who requested that his name be withheld, said: “‘Dipokaya kungsusund­innaminang­P29 napamasahe,kasipokala­hatina langpong capacity ng van ang

Vehicles under the UV Express ride- sharing service that have been allowed to ply their respective

routes can unload passengers only at designated areas and are not allowed to pick up passengers along the road for proper contact-tracing of all riding passengers.
