Muntinlupa imposes mandatory isolation after swabbing

IN a bid to slow down commuM nity transmissi­on in the city, the local government of Muntinlupa imposes mandatory isolation of residents, who have undergone swabbing for CovidM19 and daily reporting of all hospitals and clinics to the local health office.

City Council Majority Floor Leader Raul Corro said the orM dinance orders mandatory selfM isolation or admission to city isolation facilities if requireM ments for home quarantine are not met as certified by the City Health Office (CHO) for anyone who has undergone CovidM19 swab testing.

Corro noted that the strinM gent measure aims to restrict movement of suspect cases and prevent possible carriers of the virus to travel and infect other individual­s.

Isolation facilities in MuntinM lupa are located at Ospital ng Muntinlupa in Alabang and Emergency Quarantine Facility (EQF) in Sucat. An additional quarantine facility is being conM structed in Pacwood Site inTuM nasan in partnershi­p with the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Meanwhile, new curfew hours has been implemente­d in the city from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for the duM ration of the general community quarantine (QCQ) until Sept. 30

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi urges city residents to refrain from going out unless necessary and to follow health protoM cols such as frequent handM washing, physical distancing, wearing of face masks, proper cough etiquette and other precaution­ary measures.
