KCC’s ‘PKS Rewind 2020’ a success

-

FIRST to fourth generation fans of the K-Pop scene got their fix of talent, music, entertainment, and a lot more at the first ever live concert by Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines dubbed “PKS Rewind 2020: The Online Reunion.”

Celebrated PKS judges in the person of concert producer extraordinaire, Happee Sy and K-Pop Dancing Diva, Dasuri Choi also offered words of comfort, inspiration, and continuous support to the K-Culture during these trying times.

To remind the avid K-Culture enthusiasts who tuned in to the show to be mindful of the best practices to counter the spread of the virus, KCC has partnered with K-Pop Dancing Diva Dasuri Choi for the K-Safe Dance Challenge.

The K-Safe Dance Challenge, which is now available on KCC’s YouTube Channel, could very well be the most creative way to remind people to wash their hands, wear their masks, and keep the distance from other people, as the most effective ways to stop the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, true to its theme of being a “rewind,” the show brought back feelings and memories for the thousands of live viewers who listened and watched as the past PKS winners proved their skills and showcased their talent in doing hit Korean covers from certain eras.

A special portion on the colorful evolution of K-Pop over the years also paved the way for the audience to have a trip down the memory lane. Timeless OST’s

of famous K-Dramas “Reply 1988” and “Itaewon Class,” as well as the comedy film “My Sassy Girl” transported the audience back to the well-loved scenes and important lessons left by the shows.

Aside from singing, performances of hit songs of revered girl groups S.E.S and Wonder Girls lighted up the PKS Rewind 2020 virtual stage, as IU’s song “Good Day” and internationally-acclaimed P-Pop group SB19’s performance of their new songs soothed everyone’s hearts.

Although times have been tough, Korean Culture and Filipinos’ undying appreciation for it continues to thrive as the show raked in over 20,000 live views in its almost two-hour run.

Following this successful initial venture online, KCC will also be bringing its sought-after Korean Film Festival into the homes of all the K-Culture enthusiasts through a digital platform this September. Fans can expect a truly unique lineup, one that would bring “Crash Landing” good vibes and happiness that goes beyond that of the “Itaewon Class.”
