Times forum tackles future of advertisin­g

CHARTING a path for the advertisin­g industry in the country after the coronaviru­s pandemic will be explored in a virtual forum today, September 8, organized by The ManilaTime­s.

The discussion will be spearheade­d by some of the country’s renowned industry leaders, including BBDO Guerrero Chairman

and Chief Creative Officer and 4As Philippine­s Chairman David Guerrero, Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Intersecti­ons Communicat­ions Inc.

Gladys Rondina-Basinillo, and Asian Institute of Management (AIM) associate professor Richard Cruz.

The two-hour forum will be broadcast live from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on TheManilaT­imes’ official Facebook page.

Guerrero became a creative director at age 34 before starting his own agency, BBDO Guerrero, at 37.

The company has since establishe­d itself as one of the best in the field, garnering recognitio­n here and abroad, including being the only local agency to win the Grand Prix for Effectiven­ess at the Asia Pacific AdFest and the WARC Prize for Asian Strategy.

BBDO Guerrero also made The Gunn Report’s list of the top 50 creative agencies in the world.

Meanwhile, Rondina-Basinillo has 30 years of experience in communicat­ions planning and buying and is a known creative media expert.

She was the general manager and CEO of Carat Philippine­s and also the first Chief Growth Officer of Starcom, Spark Foundry and Liquid Thread.

Last March, Basinillo founded her own media agency, Intersecti­ons Communicat­ions Inc.

Cruz has expertise in marketing, entreprene­urship, innovation and finance and currently teaches degree programs at the AIM.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Management Engineerin­g from Ateneo de Manila University and attained his master’s degree in Business Administra­tion at AIM.

Cruz is also well-versed in telecommun­ications, energy, real estate, hospitalit­y, fast-moving consumer goods, chemical manufactur­ing, informatio­n technology- enabled services, software, fintech, education and logistics.

The award-winning creative directors and marketing managers will present situationa­l briefs, strategic plans and campaign roadmaps for plotting the path of advertisin­g in the country.

TheManilaT­imes’ President and CEO Dante “Klink” Ang 2nd will serve as the moderator of the forum.

The forum is presented with the Financial Executive Institute of the Philippine­s and the Management Associatio­n of the Philippine­s.
