29th MinBizCon to highlight Mindanao’s role in food security

TOP businessme­n, key industry players, government executives, and members of the diplomatic and consular corps will once again convene for the 29th Mindanao Business Conference, one of the biggest and most anticipate­d business events in Mindanao. With the theme, “Mindanao: Journeying to the New Normal,” MinBizCon 2020 is expected to bring in a much bigger audience through a series of online conference­s in September and October.

Hosted by the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII), the firstever virtual MinBizCon will kick off on September 10, 2020. Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and PCCI president Amb. Benedicto Yujuico will give their special messages to the delegates during the opening ceremony.

The keynote speaker for the event will be DoF Sec. Carlos Dominguez 3rd. The first round of sessions will highlight the role of Mindanao as the food basket and an emerging manufactur­ing hub in the Philippine­s.

Department of Agricultur­e Sec. William Dar will discuss Mindanao’s position as the country’s food hub. He will be joined by guest panelists ECCP Southern Mindanao Business Council Chairman Antonio Peralta and PCCI Director of Agricultur­e Roberto Amores. The agricultur­e session will be followed by a presentati­on on the opportunit­ies in Mindanao’s manufactur­ing sector led by Board of Investment­s Governor Napoleon Concepcion and Senate Committee on Economic Affairs Chairman Sen. Imee Marcos. A representa­tive from Holcim Philippine­s will serve as the guest panelists for this session.
