SME FIRST CIRCLE

- LEE-ANNE TOBIAS

AS a testament to its commitment to help businesses achieve their full potential through a fast, fair and flexible financial partnership, First Circle was recognized as one of this year’s Asia CEO Awards finalists in the SME Company of the Year category.

During the virtual awarding ceremony on Tuesday, the largest business award-giving body in Southeast Asia trained a spotlight on companies that made a positive impact on small businesses and consumers in light of the coronavirus pandemic. As a finalist, First Circle was among the firms that used their business’ resources for the good.

Since the enhanced community quarantine was first imposed in the country in mid- March, First Circle has kept its clients updated and informed about the Bayanihan to Heal as One and Bayanihan to Recover as One laws with regard to loan extensions and repayments. At a time when its clients’ business operations and cash flow were disrupted, First Circle was able to support them in serviceable areas despite internal adjustments and shifts the company had to make. First Circle continued to operate fully online with barely any interference.

Recently, First Circle launched a new product, the Amortizing Loans Program (ALP), that provides more value for money for businesses that meet certain requirements. Borrowers can choose a repayment schedule that suits their cash flow and repay early to receive cash rebates. The ALP offers rates that are much lower than those of nonbank financial institutions in the country.
