87th Malasakit Center launched in Cainta, Rizal
SEN. Christopher “Bong” Go launched the 87th Malasakit Center in Cainta, Rizal.
Go attended the October 16 opening of the newest Malasakit Center in Bagong Cainta Municipal Hospital, the third such center in Rizal.
The two others are in Antipolo City Hospital System Annex 4-Mambugan in Antipolo City and Margarito A. Duavit Memorial Hospital in Binangonan.
The Malasakit Center brings together under one roof all the national agencies from which patients may apply for aid. These are the Department of Health (DoH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Health Insurance Corp. and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
In his speech, Go reminded the hospital staff to serve their patients well, particularly those from the poor and vulnerable sectors, such as senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
“Iyung slogan kodatisakampanya,
kopomagserbisyo (I will stand by my campaign slogan. Service is my vice),” he said.
Go said President Rodrigo Duterte will do everything to help the people until the last day of his term .“At ako, tutu lung anko po si ya sal a ha tn gm ga hang arin ni ya par as a a ting bans a( And I will help him in all his endeavors for the country),” he added.
The senator thanked those who supported the Malasakit Center initiative and helped in successfully implementing it under the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, which he authored.
Also at the event were Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino, DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista and Undersecretary Aimee Neri, Presidential Anti- Corruption Commission Commissioner Greco Belgica, PCSO Rizal Branch Manager Francis Manalad, Cainta Mayor Johnielle Keith Nieto, Vice Mayor Ace Servillon and Dr. Joseph Kenneth Nieto.
Go reminded the public to hold their leaders accountable by speaking out against corruption and mismanagement in government.
He said it was then Davao City mayor Duterte who inspired him to open the first Malasakit Center in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City in February 2018.
The President signed the Malasakit Centers Act in December 2019.
It directs the establishment of a Malasakit Center in the Philippine General Hospital in Manila and in every DoH-run hospital.
