SCB gives Covid hygiene kits to public school teachers
STANDARD Chartered Bank (SCB) gave Covid hygiene kits to the teachers and security personnel of Maypajo Elementary and National High Schools last Thursday, 24 February 2021 in appreciation of their hard work and dedication to promote learning continuity amid the pandemic. SCB Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing Mai Sangalang, together with employee volunteers, personally brought the hygiene kits to the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office in Caloocan City. The turnover program was aired live through the Deped Tayo Caloocan City Facebook page.
The hygiene kits were received by the school principals, Office of the Schools Division Superintendent and officers of the DepEd Central Office External Partnership Services Department. DepEd Undersecretary for Legislative Affairs, External Partnerships and Project Management Service Tonisito Umali attended the program via Google Meet and highlighted the importance of forging partnerships and collaboration. He said, “The Department of Education actively engages with different partners – teachers, non-teaching organizations, parents and the community to ensure the quality of education we give to our students. We thank Standard Chartered Bank for their continued support to our teachers and learners.”
This initiative is part of Standard Chartered’s United Asia Employee Volunteering last month where employees across its markets in Asia shared time and effort to make a difference in the communities where it operates. SCB Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing Mai Sangalang said, “The Covid-19 pandemic brought about extraordinary challenges to the education sector. We recognize the efforts of DepEd and the dedication of the teachers and other school personnel for the critical role they play to ensure learning continuity while prioritizing health and safety.”
