Tarlac Agri University gets 3-star rating

- JERRY HERNANDEZ

The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) was given a three-star rating in the overall category by the Quacquerelli Symonds (QS), the world’s largest international higher education network.

After auditing its institutional strengths, TAU garnered a total of 609 points and accumulated 33 out of 40 maximum stars in eight categories. The school also catapulted to three stars in the overall category in the institutional internationalization assessment.

For the specific categories, TAU received ratings of five stars each for academic development, social responsibility, and inclusiveness; four stars each for program strength (education), teaching, employability and facilities and two stars for internationalization.

QS Stars is a rating system that provides a detailed look at an institution which enables the identification of universities; performance in the specific areas like program strength, facilities, graduate employability, social responsibility, inclusiveness and more.

It is an assessment process that understands universities are different from one another and therefore need to be assessed on a range of categories that recognize distinct strengths.

In the methodology, the QS Stars criteria are key pillars of what makes a world class university, taking into account a number of factors that are often overlooked in university rankings and other assessments.

The QS Stars report provided to the TAU will serve as a development roadmap for sustainability in areas which fared well in the audit and to shift focus on categories which needed improvement.

In its social media page, TAU said the recognition concretized its international reputation as it joined the list of world-class universities through an international assessment of the QS Stars audit.
