DA GIVES CASH, FOOD SUBSIDY TO FARMERS

RECOGNIZING the significant role of farmers and fisherfolk during the pandemic, the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region 9 gave out financial and food assistance to close to 700 farmers and fishermen in remote barangay (villages) in Zamboanga del Sur. DA regional executive director of Zamboanga Peninsula Rad Donn Cedeno led the distribution of cash and food packages consisting of two sacks of rice worth P2,000 and P3,000 cash per farmer and fisherman. Zamboanga del Sur Gov. Victor Yu, Deputy Speaker Divina Grace Yu and City Mayor Manuel Co were all in support during the distribution.
