- BY JOMAR CANLAS

THE Department of Justice (DoJ) has recommended “no bail” against PhilIPPINE CHARITY SWEEPSTAKES OFfiCE Director Sandra Cam for the crime of murder, Manila Prosecutor General Benedicto Malcontento told The Manila Times.

The case has been raffled to Regional Trial Court Branch 42 Judge Dinnah Aguila Topacio.

Judge Topacio is the wife of Citizen’s Crime Watch and Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption lawyer Ferdinand Topacio.

As a matter of procedure, an arrest warrant is expected to be issued anytime upon the filing of the case and appreciation of the judge.

Malcontento said the information bears “no bail” is recommended against Cam and her son Marco Martin since the crime is capital and nonbailable offense.

Cam and her son, along with five others, were charged over the killing of Batuan Vice Mayor Charlie Yuson 3rd in October 2019.

Their co-accused are then acting Batuan Mayor Nelson Cambaya and alleged gunmen Junel Gomez, Bradford Solis, Juanito de Luna and Rigor de la Cruz.

The National Bureau of Investigation spearheaded the filing of the case.

Cam’s son lost to the slain vice mayor’s son Charmax in the May 2019 election.
