Petro Green completes first solar project
PETROGREEN Energy Corp. (PGEC) on Friday announced it has completed its first commercial and industrial rooftop solar power project in Binondo, Manila.
“This project takes advantage of synergies with PGEC’s utilityscale solar power ventures and we intend to provide other commercial and industrial clients with the same competitive service we gave to ETY (Enrique T. Yuchengco),” said Paul Elmer Morala, PGEC assistant vice president for Power Plant Operations
PGEC is the renewable energy holding unit of publicly-listed Petro Energy Resources Corp. (PERC).
The company energized the 140.80-kilowatt peak (kWp) solar facility involving 352 units of 405watt solar panels and two units of 60-kWac (kilowatts of AC power) of string inverter installed in 900 square meters of a rooftop of the 12-story Enrique T. Yuchengco (ETY) office building in Binondo, Manila.
The system is capable of generating about 190 megawatt-hour (mwh) of electricity annually, or approximately 20 percent of the building’s daily power consumption.
Mario Paguio, president and general manager of Landev Corp., said they took the first step in transforming ETY Building as a more sustainable structure.
“Our partnership with PGEC ensured that the project was successfully completed as scheduled from design to installation and was compliant to technical specifications and quality standards,” Paguio said, adding Landev plans to replicate the solar rooftop project in other Yuchengco Group of Companies (YGC) structures it manages.
PERC and Landev are part of the YGC Group.
