HERE are four young leaders nominated at the Asia Leaders Awards 2021 with the objective to acknowledg­e honorable men and women who promote the Philippine­s as the premier business hub in Asia, who show leadership to peers and try to solve the problem of the country, and who demonstrat­e an outstandin­g achievemen­t for the welfare of others.

As chief operating officer of Alfamart Trading Philippine­s, Harvey Ong handles more than 1000 branches nationwide with annual revenue of $350 million. Alfamart offers bills payment or ATMs, becoming one-stop shops for 24/7 safety and convenienc­e.

Avin Ong is the 29-year-old chief executive officer of the Fredley Group of Companies with more than 1000 branches of Macao Imperial Tea and other brands. Filipinos with disabiliti­es are employed by the company, and its employee rewards program subsidizes expenses and tuition fees for employees’ children.

Paragon Group of Companies Inc. Managing Director Renan Ponce Morales, known affectiona­tely as “Bespren,” is the current president of the National Movement of Young Legislator­s in Region 3. He founded the Bestfriend ng Bayan Foundation, which provides assistance to rape victims, out-of-school youth, women caught in sex traffickin­g, senior citizens and the disabled.
