PPA implements safety seal certification in ports
THE Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) will issue safety seal certificates to establishments inside the ports which are compliant with the public health standards in support of the government’s initiative to safely reopen the economy.
PPA General Manager Jay Daniel Santiago said PPA Administrative Order 10-2021 aims to assure the public that the establishments are safe for use.
The initiative will strengthen the contact tracing and the government’s effective safety measures to contain the Covid-19 virus from spreading to all establishments inside the ports under PPA. The operator of the establishment or the authorized representatives are encouraged to apply online to PPA offices for the issuance of a safety seal certificate.
Once all the requirements including the ocular inspection are verified compliant, the inspection team will recommend to the PPA safety seal committee the approval of the application for the safety seal certificate.
Should there be deficiencies in the eligibility requirements, the owner or authorized representative will be informed to correct or complete the requirements and may apply for reassessment until all requirements comply.
Upon the approval of the application, the issued safety seal sticker shall be placed in a strategic area of the establishment that is visible to the public. The safety seal certificate is valid for one year from the date of the issuance and is renewable not earlier than one month before its expiration.
Renewal application shall be subject to the same requirements and procedures as the original application.
