CRC offers online Data Protection Officers certification course
THE Center for Research and Communication (CRC) will hold its online classes for the Data Protection Officers Foundational and Certification Course starting Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022.
CRC is accredited as a highly qualified, wellexperienced and trusted Institutional Privacy Trainer of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).
Taking the Data Protection Officers Foundational and Certification Course is the first step to becoming a full-fledged DPO, a media release from CRC stated.
CRC said the course is also being positioned as a comprehensive industrystandard course for those appointed as DPO of their respective organizations.
The five-day interactive instructor-led training covers content prepared by subject matter experts based on Republic Act 10173 (Data Privacy Act of the Philippines), the Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union and other best practices of Information Security Officers (ISOs).
By the end of the course, participants will be Certified Data Protection Officers by earning both a CRC and NPC DPO certificate if they pass both the CRC certification exam and the NPC Data Protection Officer Accountability, Compliance and Ethics (DPO ACE) Level-1 exam.
The NPC DPO ACE Program, in partnership with accredited Institutional Privacy Trainers, aims to establish a skills benchmark for DPO to address the high demand for adequate capacity-building mechanisms for aspiring privacy professionals in the Philippines.
The partnership takes CRC and NPC closer toward their shared vision of building a “culture of data privacy” in the country.
CRC also conducts inhouse training for the DPO Foundational and Certification Course. For training schedules and inquiries, email: crc@uap. asia.
