Poverty alleviation and infrastructure upgrade in Davao’s 12-point agenda
DAVAO CITY: Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte urges all offices both in the executive and legislative branches to work together for the realization of his 12-point agenda during his first term as mayor, prioritizing poverty alleviation and infrastructure development.
Duterte’s 12-point agenda was presented Thursday, September 22, during the gathering of city officials from the executive and legislative branches to formulate the Executive and Legislative Agenda (ELA) for 2023-2025 at the Arcadia Event Center.
The other key priority areas are poverty sustainable environment; health; education and human resource development; agriculture and agribusiness; business and industrial support development; transportation planning and traffic management.
The mayor who was given a mandate by the Davaoeños in the last May 10 elections will also be prioritizing peace and order; disaster risk reduction and mitigation; good governance through innovative ICT; and tourism and development and support services.
These programs were included in the discussion of around 200 representatives of city government offices, the Sangguniang Panlungsod, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
City Planning and Development Officer head Engr. Ivan Cortez said the ELA is a requirement of the Department of the Interior and Local Government that should be formulated within the first 100 days of every new administration.
He said the ELA will set the development direction of the city government, alongside the Sangguniang Panlungsod, for the next three years.
This will also become the basis for the Local Development Investment Plan (LDIP). The LDIP will contain the list of projects and programs by the executive and the legislative for funding from all sources.
