More than 7k jobs available to tourism job seekers

A TOTAL of 7,510 job vacancies from 147 establishm­ents across the three major locations from the accommodat­ion establishm­ents, travel and tour services, meetings, incentives, convention­s and exhibition­s facilities and organizers, tourist transport operators, health and wellness services, restaurant/food service, and other tourism-related establishm­ents as of September 16 will be opened to interested applicants during the initial run of the job fair.

A total of 3,367 jobs from the National Capital Region (NCR), Calabarzon and Mimaropa will be offered during the Manila leg, while Cebu and Davao will open 1,633 and 2,510 jobs from the Visayas and Mindanao, respective­ly.

“While the DoT continues to work towards President Bongbong Marcos’ vision for tourism to contribute greatly to our country’s economic resurgence, we fully understand the need for this to be met with efforts to fortify the tourism and allied industry workforce. We could not be more grateful enough to the DoLE, the local government units, and all our partners in the private sector who have supported us in this important endeavor to bring back lost jobs and to present a multitude of new opportunit­ies for employment and greener pastures in the tourism industry to our fellow Filipinos,” Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco added.

The Trabaho, Turismo, Asenso! Philippine Tourism Job Fair opened on September 22 until September 24.

The Manila leg of the job fair will coincide with the Hotels Supplier Show, after Global-Link MP, one of the private sector partners of the Department of Transporta­tion (DoT) and Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE).
