Authentic K-crunch is here: Global brand BB.Q Chicken opens in BGC

-

FRIED chicken is considered a convenient comfort food for both Filipinos and Koreans. In fact, those who love to stream K-dramas will notice the popularity of fried chicken restaurants in Korea. BB.Q Chicken, one of Korea’s biggest and most popular brands, is now open in the Philippines.

BB.Q stands for “Best of the Best Quality” chicken, explains Jack Hyunsoo Noh, chief executive officer at LCS Group Korea, the official partner of Genesis BB.Q Global. The chicken restaurant, which first opened in 1995, is now present in 57 countries with over 3,500 branches.

“There are so many brands in Korea that chicken is considered as a national snack. BB.Q is promoting healthy, high-quality chicken to its customers in such markets,” Noh said.

The Korean brand has set a new record in franchise history by opening 1,000 stores in its first four years of operation. It has become Korea’s No. 1 chicken by continuing to release various menu and store business models, according to cultural trends. Noh adds that the management felt it was the right time to introduce the brand to the Philippines.

“Due to the historic BB.Q results in the Korean market and rapid growth in North America, we opened here to serve as the Southeast Asian Hub of Genesis BB.Q Group to write a history of its success from the Philippines, the largest market in Southeast Asia,” Noh added.

One of the reasons for its popularity is that BB.Q Chicken uses olive oil for frying to make the chicken not only deliciously crunchy, but also healthier.
