DPWH completes new school building in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY: The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Pangasinan Second District Engineerin­g Office has completed the constructi­on of a two-story, four-classroom school building at Dulag Elementary School in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

Esperanza Tinaza, regional public informatio­n officer of DPWH-Ilocos, said the project has a contract amount of P12.5 million and was funded under the Department of Education’s 2021 Basic Educationa­l Facilities Fund.

“With the new school building, students enrolled in Grades 1 to 6 can enjoy their new school with complete facilities,” Tinaza said.

“With the implementa­tion of face-to-face classes soon to start, the newly constructe­d school building will significan­tly contribute to the school. The classrooms have good ventilatio­n, furnished walls and ceilings, and comfort rooms. Water sprinklers, handrails, and elevated ramp/stairs were also included in the new building.”

The DPWH has been constructi­ng new school buildings as part of its contributi­on to the educationa­l sector’s efforts in making public school facilities conducive to learning.
