ABOUT 50 indigent families in Maguindanao del Norte are recipients of the resettlement project of the Ministry of Human Settlement and Development-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MHSD-BARMM).

Engineer Zainodin Buisan, MHSD chief of Planning and Design Division, said that MHSD, the housing arm of BARMM, is constructing 50 new houses in Darapanan village, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.

Buisan led the groundbreaking of the housing project in Darapanan, the central administrative camp of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front last Tuesday morning.

“Each unit will be a one-story residential building with a 49 square meter floor area, two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room area,” Buisan said.

MHSD Director-General Esmael Ebrahim stated that beneficiaries will be selected based on identified guidelines, in line with the community’s needs and inputs from local stakeholders.

He also said other indigents across the region are also set to benefit from the housing project.

In August this year, BARMM built 50 housing units for indigents in Cotabato City.
