Rescue team Saruf of NLuzon bats for disaster mitigation
CORDILLERA RDRRMC chairman and OCD-CAR regional director Albert Mogol served as the guest of honor, speaker and officer during the induction ceremony of the officers and members of the Search and Rescue Unit Foundation Inc. (Saruf) for Northern Luzon and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Regional Chapters.
The newly inducted officers were headed by Saruf founding president Dr. Gerardo Carual, Saruf Northern Luzon regional director Leomer Cuaton, and Saruf CAR regional director Rick Reyes, who also pledged their support to DRRM/resiliency efforts in the Cordillera region.
Mogol elaborated that the foundation of the organization is a plus factor on the side of civil society sectoral representation on disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM).
Saruf Inc. is a civil society organization duly recognized by the government composed of professionals — doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians, rescue specialists, teachers, IT experts, and reservists, among others. It envisions itself as a unifying agent of rescue and humanitarian organizations in the country through one communication line, cross-training, and drills.
