SUBIC POLICE NAB FIVE IN DRUG-BUST

SUBIC, Zambales: Five persons were arrested on Thursday morning by members of the local police here, the Provincial Drug Enforcemen­t Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency (PDEA) while in a pot session at Barangay Calapacuan here. Subic Municipal Police Station (MPS) chief Maj. Mark Louie Sigua identified the suspects as Jhonnuel Dagnal, 35, fisherman of Subic Town; Gilbert Marantal, 50, mason; Romeo Habal, 44, tricycle driver, all residents of Subic; and Denver Angel, 34, painter; and Mario Austria, 44, electricia­n, both of San Marcelino, Zambales. During the operation, police operatives were able to seize from the suspects four heat-sealed transparen­t plastic sachets containing shabu, a five hundred peso bill used as marked money, undetermin­ed cash, a coin purse, and drug parapherna­lia. The suspects and the confiscate­d items were taken to the Subic MPS for proper dispositio­n. Meanwhile, personnel of San Narciso MPS, led by Maj. Ramil Menor, acting chief of police, finally arrested the town’s most wanted person (name withheld by police) at Barangay Libertad in San Narciso. The suspect was charged with four counts for a crime of violation of Batas Pambansa Bilang 22, known also as the bouncing check law. The bail recommende­d was P5,000 for each count of drug violation.
