LAND OF THE GIANTS

Higantes or giants reappear in Angono, Rizal on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, for the celebration of the town’s fiesta for the first time on Sunday, November 20, after it was suspended for two years due to the pandemic. Known as The Higantes Festival, the annual event is a parade of papier-mâché giants who symbolize the Filipinos’ protest against the abuses of Spanish colonizers.
