ALBAY SUSPENDS CLASSES BECAUSE OF BAD WEATHER
THE province of Albay has announced the suspension of classes for Saturday because of bad weather, Gov. Noel Rosal announced on his social media page on the same day. “With the continuous rain and effects of the low-pressure area in the eastern seaboard and presence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone, Albay is and will continue to experience light and moderate to heavy rains that may lead to river swelling, localized flooding, and landslides,” wrote Rosal on his Facebook page. “Classes are hereby suspended in all levels in both private and public effective [November 19] until lifted.” Apart from class suspensions, city and municipal disaster risk reduction and management offices were advised to be on “continuous alert” to monitor and implement countermeasures.
