Typhoon-hit families in Bulacan receive food packs

THE provincial government of Bulacan through the Provincial Social Welfare and Developmen­t Office (PSWDO) distribute­d food packs to 12,068 families affected by Tropical Storm “Paeng” during its two-day relief operation in the coastal towns of Calumpit and Hagonoy on Nov. 18-19, 2022.

Gov. Daniel Fernando and Vice Gov. Alexis Castro were accompanie­d by PSWDO personnel and barangay (village) officials during the distributi­on of the food packs, each containing four kilograms of rice, assorted canned goods, and instant noodles.

Calumpit Mayor Lem Faustino and First District Board Members Allan Andan and Mina Fermin joined Fernando and Castro on the first day of the relief drive in Calumpit.

PSWDO head Rowena Tiongson said 990 families received relief assistance in Barangay Panducot; 1,000 families in Barangay Sta. Lucia; 905 families in Bulusan; 2,075 families in Gatbuca; and 2,388 families in Barangay Iba O’Este.

Fernando and Castro continued the relief operation the following day in Hagonoy and handed over food aid to 1,300 families in Barangay Tibaguin; 1,424 families in Barangay Consignaci­on; 1,036 families in Barangay San Juan; and 950 families in Barangay Palapat.
