NEA attends NCIP national summit

THE National Electrific­ation Administra­tion (NEA) attended the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) national summit on “ICCs/IPs Unificatio­n with the Government Nation Building” with the theme “Building Families, Building AD/AL Communitie­s and Building the Nation,” held at the AFP Commission­ed Officers Club House, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City on Nov. 16, 2022.

The summit was led by Chairman Allen Capuyan, who delivered the State of the Indigenous Cultural Communitie­s/Indigenous Peoples Address and presented the “Developing Resilient, Responsive and Relevant Communitie­s through the Operationa­lization of the 11 Building Blocks — NCIP Strategic Direction.” Attorney Marlon Bosantog, chairman of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act Center, discussed the 13 Drivers for Nation Building-Economic Recovery while Director Gillian Dunuan of the NICP Legal Affairs Office shared the “Collaborat­ive Framework of Agencies with the ICCs/IPs — Call to Action and Ways Forward.” Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. graced the event and led the signing of the National Advisory and the Pledge of Commitment and Manifesto of Peace, Unity and Developmen­t.

Some 400 participan­ts from different government agencies attended the summit. NEA was represente­d by engineer Isak Jonathan Villanueva of the Renewable Energy Developmen­t Division, Mary Pauline Reyes under the Office of the Administra­tor and Rafael Barrientos of the Corporate Communicat­ions and Social Marketing Office.
