DJ Loonyo takes his music to the 'universe'

- BY IZA IGLESIAS

DJ Loonyo, or Rhemuel Lunio in real life, has indeed come a long way from a hit social media personality TO A CERTIfiED RECORDING ARTIST.

A Cagayan de Oro City native, DJ Loonyo started his career as a competitive dancer, a choreographer and a club DJ — hence, his monicker. But it was during the pandemic when he posted inspiring dance videos such as the top trend “#FrontlinersDanceChallenge“which spurred millions of likes and shares that led to new opportunities for him particularly in television and music.

Since then, he has been a sought-after performer on various musical-variety programs, a judge and headhunter on TV5’s “Popinoy” competition and is regularly seen on “Wowowin.”

Still with big dreams in mind, DJ Loonyo has channeled his skills and talents further into music, having sealed a recording deal with Universal Records in 2021 to release tracks such as “Dance Under The Sun,” “Teka Muna,” “Sakin Ka Na Lang,” “Ganda,” and his recent collaboration with Gloc-9, entitled “Bakit.” As an artist, he can fuse together his talents as a hip-hop dancer with his wide range in music to create a proudly global Pinoy sound.

DJ Loonyo’s next moves will be set to his own music, sparking his own trends, and creating unique multi-sensory experiences for all to enjoy.

To further launch his distinct brand of music, DJ Loonyo will be holding his first-ever solo concert dubbed “Loonyoverse: They Made Me Do It” on December 8 at the Matrix Creations Events Venue in Quezon City.

Celebrating this milestone with him is his very own music group, Area 63 or shortly, A63. The up-and-coming music group is poised to skyrocket as it is brimming with multi- talented and multi-platform artists and influencers namely, Mannex Manhattan, Amari, Freshbreed, Yuki Takahashi, Ken San Jose, and their resident music producer, Solomon Stark.

Dance performances will also feature two of the dance community’s sought-after and awarded groups, RockwellPH and Youngins.

“Together with the rest of the Loonyoverse community, I assure all ticket holders that this is the kind of diverse concert experience they have never seen before. With the elements at play — all proudly original music, a 360-degree stage set up, a virtual reality designed venue for a guaranteed audio-visual feast, and dance routines that will take you to the edge of your seats — it proves to be the year-ender you sure wouldn’t want to miss,” said DJ Loonyo.

Tickets for “Loonyoverse: They Made Me Do It” are available at P2,000 for VIP, P1,500 for gold and P1,000 for silver.
