THE city government of Kidapawan in North Cotabato is strictly prohibiting the illegal use, such as pawning and selling, of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) automated teller machine (ATM) cards. City Mayor Paolo Evangelista ries of 2022, which contains the signed Executive Order 063, Se- proper procedure for the beneficiaries of the 4Ps to use their ATM card to receive assistance from the government.

Evangelista said this step is to ensure that the aid provided by the government is used correctly and not wasted.

“The aid given by the government to our indigent countrymen who are beneficiaries of the 4Ps should not be wasted and should be used correctly, so we will strictly prohibit the mortgage, sale or use of ATM cards in illegal ways,” the mayor said.

He also said the aid received should not be used for gambling and other vices.

Evangelista added that the financial assistance from the government should be used to finance the education and health of children and also to buy important and basic needs for the family.

The 4Ps ATM cards have been reported to be used as “collateral” for debts, a practice that is prohibited by the Departent of Social Welfare and Development, which administers the program.

Based on the executive order, anyone found to have violated the law will be subject to aid suspension or permanent removal from the program’s list of beneficiaries.

Individuals who pawn or purchase 4Ps ATM cards are also liable.

Citizens are advised to report to the mayor’s office, barangay (village) hall or the City Social Welfare and Development Office when there is a violation of the order.

Evangelista advises all 4Ps beneficiaries to use their ATM cards in the correct manner to continue receiving aid from the government.
