Aguilas stay unbeaten in Challenger­s Cup football

UNIVERSITY of Makati-Davao Aguilas stayed unbeaten and secured a semifinals berth in the men’s under-23 division of the Pacquiao 3-in-1 Challenger­s Cup on Wednesday at the University of Makati Stadium.

The Aguilas swept their eliminatio­n round assignment­s after defeating Adamson University, 1-0, for its third victory with 9 points.

Kart Tallaroc delivered the lone goal of the match in the 25th minute, eventually getting the nod as Player of the Match.

Clinching the top spot in Group B, the Aguilas will face the second placer in Group A in a crossover knockout semifinals game next weekend.

Adamson, meanwhile, fell to a 1-2 with three points, third in Group B.

Polytechni­c University of the Philippine­s is currently in second place with a 1-1 win-loss card for three points.

In Group A, Kaya FC leads the pack with a 1-win, 1-draw record for four points.

Malaya FC Team B is in second place with a 1-win, 1-loss card for three points.
