BAGUIO CENTENARIANS GET CASH INCENTIVES

- GABY KEITH

Three centenarians in the Summer Capital were recently awarded P100,000 cash incentives each by the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera (DSWD-CAR). These are Soledad Coloma, 100 years old; Concepcion Aquino, 100 years old; and Leonora Aromin, 102 years old. The cash incentives from the national government and letter of felicitation from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. were handed over by DSWD-CAR Regional Director Leo Quintilla and Daphne Lorraine Marinas of the DSWD-CAR Sectors Unit, personnel of the City Social Welfare and Development Office and the local government unit of Baguio. Under Republic Act 10868 or the “Centenarians Act,” Filipinos who reach 100 years old are entitled to receive a centenarian gift of P100,000 from the national government through the DSWD and a letter of felicitation from the President.
