EIGHTY-FIVE percent of Filipinos think that the country “is headed in the right direction” under the current administration, a survey conducted by OCTA Research showed.

The poll conducted from Oct. 23 to 27, 2022 showed a high number of citizens who believe the Philippines is on the way up based on the programs and policies laid down by the government DURING THE FIRST FEW MONTHS IN OFFICE of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

The pollster said that 85 percent of the 1,200 respondents believe the country is on the right path, 9 percent were doubtful, and 6 percent were undecided.

Across the major areas, 91 percent of adult Filipinos who participated in the poll in the Visayas think the country is headed in the right direction, while 70 percent of those asked in the National Capital Region expressed the same.

Political scientist and OCTA Research founder Ranjit Rye said that “there CONTINUES TO BE A GREAT TRUST AND CONFIDENCE around the new government and its programs” despite many issues Hounding THE COUNTRY SUCH AS “Inflation AND MANY SOCIAL, Fiscal AND ADMINISTRATIVE challenges.”

“In my view, the consensus has even increased in favor of the new government. I hope the administration can continue to sustain and build on the TRUST AND CONFIDENCE OF OUR COUNTRYMEN. It is clear from the survey data that it should continue its focus on rebuilding the economy to improve the lives of all Filipinos,” Rye told The Manila Times in a text message.
