Dr. Miguel Librojo innovates the Philippine dental scene

- CARLA BIANCA RAVANES-HIGHAM

FOURTH generation Librojo dentist Dr. Miguel Librojo believes that it is possible to continue a legacy while bolstering innovation and evolution.

Migo, who initially didn’t want to pursue dentistry, was inspired by his mother.

“Dentistry runs in our blood, it started as a family practice and since my parents are both in the field they encouraged me to take the same path. As a teenager entering college, I did not like the idea at first since I wanted to stay in Ateneo for college but since it was a request by my mom who was battling cancer at that time, of course I did it for her,” he recalled.

A graduate of University of the East Manila, Miguel better known as Migo carries with him the legacy that his great grandfather, Dr. Gregorio Librojo started in 1914.

“This is the foundation of my own practice. Nearly everyone in my family has pursued a successful dentistry career and we are all inspired by my great grandfather’s dedication to continuous learning and excellence,” he shared.

This is what inspired Migo to continue to pursue further education while growing his own individual practice, he has completed courses from all over the world including Germany, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Dubai. He has studied Dental Implantology, Restorative Implant Dentistry, Digital Dentistry, Smile Makeover Masterclass, and Esthetic Dentistry to name a few. He completed these courses from the most prestigious schools in the world including the Global Institute of Dental Education, Hong Kong University and Mastery Academy.

Specializing in dental implantology and esthetic dentistry, Migo is driven by a desire to put his passion above his profits and provide cutting edge technology to his clients. He does this by constantly studying and learning new things in the field.

Migo also believes that there are more offerings available in the industry, a fact that was once overlooked.

“The new age of Digital Dentistry integrates the use of state of the art equipment and technology has yet to become popular in our country and is slowly getting more traction recently. For one to be able to study this relatively NEW fiELD OF DENTISTRY, ONE HAS TO BE trained internationally since the available courses in the Philippines are quite limited as compared to our international counterparts. It also takes substantial capital for a clinic to be equipped with the machines used for the practice. More hi-tech means fast and accurate results, which every patient wants.”

Migo notes that his practice is unique in the sense that he is able to bridge traditional ways with new technology.

“I had a traditional training when it comes to dentistry and I often consult seniors in practice regarding my cases. I then apply these tips and tricks into digital dentistry to make it more precise and advanced.”

He is the Founder of Asian Implantology and Integrated Dentistry (AIID), a cosmetic dental clinic located in Okada Manila Hotel and Casino in the Philippines.

AIID practices digital dentistry and utilizes advance technology in order to create the best outcome for each case. AIID has the state-of-the-art CBCT machine, which is the gold standard of dental diagnosis. AIID is able to produce faster and more precise results, making sure to always deliver excellent dental services and solutions. For Migo, the goal is to create a trusted practices that provides the best results at all times.
