Two drug suspects arrested in BARMM
ILIGAN CITY: Personnel of the Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) seized 10 grams of shabu worth P68,000 and uprooted 1.5 kilograms of marijuana plants worth P27,000 in separate operations in Cotabato City and Siasi, Sulu.
Combined operatives from various law enforcement agencies here in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement AgencyBARMM arrested two drug suspects during a buy-bust in Cotabato City.
One of the suspects agreed to sell two pieces of medium-sized transparent plastic sachets containing shabu to a police officer who acted as poseur buyer in the operation.
The suspects received a P1,000 bill placed on top of 13 pieces of fake bills of the same amount during the operation at Jose Lim Sr. Street, Poblacion 5, Cotabato City, at about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 25.
In Sitio Lantung, Barangay East Kuntad, another drug suspect was arrested at around 2:45 p.m. also on Thursday, after transacting with a poseur buyer in a buy-bust conducted by the Siasi Municipal Police Station in coordination with various law enforcement agencies.
The policemen, acting on a tip from a concerned citizen, discovered the suspect was keeping a marijuana plantation near his backyard.
The raiders found 32 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants weighing approximately 1.5 kgs with a standard price of P27,200.
The inventory, documentation, marking, and tagging of seized evidence were properly conducted onsite and in the presence of media representatives and barangay officials.
BGen. Allan Nobleza, regional director of PRO-BAR, lauded the efforts of the combined operating units in securing and protecting the Bangsamoro people from illegal drugs.
He said that PRO-BAR’s campaign against all forms of criminalities will be carried out with renewed vigor and aggressiveness against drug peddlers and all other criminals in the region.
