Introducing the Honor Magic V2
The world’s thinnest foldable phone
AFTER weeks of anticipation, global technology brand Honor has officially unveiled the Honor Magic V2, setting a new standard as the world’s thinnest foldable phone.
Redefining the benchmark for foldable smartphones, Stephen Cheng, vice president of Honor Philippines, hailed the Magic V2 as an innovation poised to revolutionize the foldable smartphone landscape. “The ultra-slim device is crafted to offer unparalleled functionality and a sleek, sophisticated design that is unrivaled in the market,” he remarked.
The Magic V2 boasts a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with an Adreno 740 GPU, running on the MagicOS 7.2 (Built on Android 13) platform with the MagicOS 7.2 interface. It features an impressive 16GB RAM and 512GB storage capacity, accompanied by a triple rear camera setup comprising 50MP wide, 50MP ultra-wide, and 20MP telephoto lenses, along with a 16MP wide front camera.
With an Industry-First Titanium Hinge, the Honor Magic V2 sets a new standard for durability and performance. Utilizing an aerospace-grade titanium alloy in the hinge cover, the device achieves an optimal balance between weight and strength. This material offers superior durability, being 150-percent stronger than conventional aluminum alloy, and boasts a higher melting point for unparalleled robustness.
Complementing the titanium alloy, 67 percent of the hinge utilizes Honor’s proprietary steel, which is 25-percent slimmer and 20-percent stronger than previous versions, enabling a slim form factor without compromising durability. These advancements ensure stability and elegance, reducing fold marks on the inside screen by 47 percent.
With a lifespan of up to ten years and the capability to withstand more than 400,000 folds, the Honor Magic V2 promises worryfree usage, even under heavy daily usage.
Innovative features enhance the user experience, including an advanced “brake caliper” damping structure and a unique micro-lock that prevents screen misalignment and creases. Components such as screws have been redesigned to minimize height without sacrificing robustness, while mortise and tenon integral molding technology reduces internal space and overall thickness.
Performance-wise, the Honor Magic V2 incorporates a “three-in-one” display driver component, enabling the integration of a 5000mAh siliconcarbon battery. Despite its slim profile, the device features the Honor ultra-thin Bionic VC Cooling System for optimal performance and durability. The phone also features Wraparound Antenna Extension Technology 2.0 that enhances connectivity with its three-millimeter-thin design.
Available in two colors, purple and black, the Honor Magic V2 is priced at P79,999 and is now available for purchase through Honor Experience and partner stores, as well as official Honor online outlets on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok.
