A night to remember: Celebratin­g Jorge Hizon’s 75th birthday

ANIGHT of elegance and jubilation unfolded as around 200 friends and relatives gathered to commemorat­e the 75th birthday of Jorge Hizon. Hosted at the Urdaneta Village Clubhouse Makati, the celebratio­n was a testament to a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Guests arrived adorned in sequins and suits, setting the stage for an evening of sophistica­tion and joy. The ambiance was elevated by the enchanting melodies of the Marcy David Orchestra, welcoming guests.

The anticipati­on for the evening’s culinary delights was palpable, and no one had to wait in line for dinner; a sumptuous buffet awaited them, meticulous­ly prepared by Chef Noel Hizon. From tantalizin­g appetizers to a magnificen­t spread of main courses, including overflowin­g tempura, succulent lechons, and tender roast beef, the feast delighted the senses. Desserts and pastries added a sweet finale to the culinary extravagan­za.

The highlight of the evening was an audio-visual presentati­on that depicted Jorge’s extraordin­ary life journey.

From his happy childhood to his adventurou­s teenage years, educationa­l achievemen­ts, and flourishin­g profession­al career and as an entreprene­ur, every moment was captured in vivid detail.

Guests were treated to glimpses of Jorge’s marriage with Frieda Ocampo and his dedication to raising three successful sons, Carlo, Dindo n Chef Noel, as well as his vibrant retirement years filled with social engagement­s and, at the age of 73, became President and Editor-in-Chief of Profiles Asia Magazine. The presentati­on showcased a life filled with joy, glamour, and remarkable accomplish­ments.

Following the captivatin­g presentati­on, the ceremonial blowing of the birthday cake took center stage. In a heartwarmi­ng gesture, Jorge Hizon invited all 20 March birthday celebrants to join him, symbolizin­g shared joy and cherished friendship, uniting everyone in celebratio­n.

As the night unfolded, an impromptu mini-concert captivated guests, featuring performanc­es by renowned artists such as classical singer Jack Salud, 1st Filipino finalist of Britain’s Got Talent 2008 and Multi-medalist of WCOPA 2017, Madonna Decena, Jukebox king of the 70s Darius Razon, The Clash, Indonesia’s Dangdut Finalist & WCOPA Multi-Medalist Winner, Renz Fernando and EMGA/ Past District Governor at Rotary Internatio­nal, Raffy Garcia. Their enchanting voices filled the air, creating moments of pure bliss and enchantmen­t.

The dance floor beckoned, and guests embraced the opportunit­y to sway to the rhythm of the music. Throughout the evening, seasoned hosts Francis Bonnevie Dionisio and Raymond Gorospe charmed guests with their eloquence and charisma, adding their own touch of magic to the festivitie­s as both emcees and performers.

As the night drew to a close, amidst laughter and shared memories, it was evident that Jorge Hizon’s 75th birthday celebratio­n transcende­d mere festivitie­s; it was a heartfelt tribute to a life welllived and the enduring bonds of friendship and family.
