Popular Japanese apparel’s first PH store reopens

-

WHEN global apparel retailer Uniqlo, which has roots in Japan, opened in the Philippines in 2012, it was only fitting to have its first store inside the country’s largest mall, SM Mall of Asia (MOA).

But a decade later, Uniqlo decided to give its inaugural store renovations and expansion to offer a new experience for customers.

It took a two-year closure for the brand to complete major updates but Uniqlo fans and users, it was well worth the wait what with a refined experience the store now offers.

Boasting a sales floor of around 3,000 square meters across two floors, the store is the second in the Philippines to house both the UTMe! custom print service and Uniqlo Coffee café, as well as featuring the complete lineup of the brand’s LifeWear collection.

UTme! is a service that allows customers to create their own graphic t-shirts with custom stickers and their own photos or artwork. At the redefined MOA branch, the extensive UTme! designs on offer are further augmented by exclusive artworks.

These exclusive designs include artwork from Filipino artists Lloyd Zapanta, Aaron Amar, and Studio Dialogo, as well as designs created in partnership with fan-favorite local brands Auro and Mana.

Another exciting addition to the UTme! design collection is Disney Mickey Go Philippines, the first of its kind, launching exclusively in the MOA branch.

Featuring Mickey Mouse wearing Barong Tagalog and Mickey & Friends hanging out in front of a jeepney, among others, the designs offer a creative take on Mickey & Friends, bringing beloved Disney characters together with uniquely local aspects of Filipino culture. Customers can dive into the vibrant designs inspired by iconic Filipino symbols and phrases from street culture in Manila and other destinations in the Philippines, classic Filipino dishes, Pinoy pop culture, and more references to Pinoy heritage and culture.

Elsewhere in the store, customers can enjoy a break with the Uniqlo Coffee café, which features a store-exclusive menu offering café classics such as Americano and Café Latte coffees, as well as refreshing beverages including Passion Fruit Tea and White Peach Fruit Tea. Customers can also enjoy a snack with their drink, with choices that include New York Cheesecake, Matcha Cheesecake, and Cereal Cookie, as well as an assortment of gelatos such as Cereal Milk, Hojicha, and Tablea Lava Cake.

Uniqlo MOA is located at level 2 and 3 of the north main mall.
