“If the client has an idea for a hairstyle, can the hairdressers deliver that color, cut, and texture? For us, we do our best. If we don’t keep them excited, then our job will be boring–it’s the same thing all the time,” expresses Jude. As partners in the salon, Jude and Rose’s passion for their craft is palpable, you can instantly feel it. They always look for new ways to showcase their skills. But it’s never a one-way street for hair styling, as artists would always need their canvas to channel that outbursting energy. “As stylists, it helps a lot if we have a certain rapport with our clients. It’s easier for us to know the person’s lifestyle, the look they prefer, and their willingness to change,” says Jude. Rose echoes this statement: “You don’t sit on the chair and start cutting and coloring away. We have to listen to what they want and give them professional advice when needed. We have to be honest with them. It’s about being upfront, honest, and careful with the client’s hair.” Consultation is always the first step to great hairstyling for Jude and Rose, but your hair is just half the story; your entire background and character is taken into consideration for a style you’d want to don. It’s all in the process of proper hair treatment. “We’re not your typical hairdressers. Do you come to our salon and just sit down? No. You come for the process, the expertise.”
