One could easily go to YouTube and look up “100 years of Beauty” and see how the concept of beauty constantly changes. One minute it’s thin brows and rouged lips, the next decade it’s bronzed skin and thick brows. What remains constant though, is the idea that true beauty really is skin deep. This month, who better to lead this movement, but the eternal beauties that are KC Concepcion and Heart Evangelista Escudero?

Both are known not only for their exquisite faces and figures, but also for their kindness, bravery and tireless work ethic. Clad in the best of mid-century fashion in the brightest of shades, Heart was visibly ecstatic when we brought out the feathered hats by designer Philip Rodriguez. A shoot with Heart is always full of exciting fashion and daring beauty, but what made Heart even more stunning that day were her eyelash extensions especially made for the shoot by Néw Lounge. Long, voluminous lashes paired with classic pink cheeks and red lips made Heart the ultimate Fifties muse. On the other hand, the excitement was palpable when KC strode into the set. “It’s been so long since I had a cover with MEGA!” she excitedly exclaimed in between poses. Wearing the best of fall’s cozy, warm neutrals, KC was even more radiant with her flawless skin and makeup, thanks to Shiseido’s Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation. Distinct yet complementary to each other, both MEGA covers highlight each star’s unique beauty.

With this month’s MEGA Beauty Awards highlighting the new cosmetic essentials, KC and Heart are the perfect women to represent our modern concepts of beauty. Beauty is indeed back.
