ITALIAN INDULGENCE
El Capo is the destination for comforting Italian food
The Philippines is spoilt for choice when it comes to world cuisines and food movements. Filipinos love to eat and are willing to try just about anything, no matter how odd the concept or combination. However, classics such as Italian cuisine, with its array of pastas, succulent meats and mouthwatering desserts, will always have a place in our collective heart. If you find yourself craving for traditional Italian, head on to El Capo in bustling Pasig.
El Capo started out humble, a small business venture conceived by Nicolas “Nico” Ong. Since its low-key beginnings, El Capo has gone on to greater heights while staying true to its roots and mission of providing Filipinos with delicious, comforting Italian food. From starting out as a small stall in urban food bazaars, Nico’s kitchenette idea has since transformed into well-loved restaurant catering to its surrounding community.
Given our endless appetite for all things Italian, El Capo’s packed menu matches any and all of our cravings. On the list are favorites such as the Frutti di Mare Pizza, El Capo Pizza, Margherita Pizza and Pepperoni Pizza. For their pastas, a highlight is the Seafood Vongole Pasta with Gamberetti, which comes with generous portions of clams and shrimp. For meat lovers, the Chicken Parmigiana and Hot Chicken Wings are just some of their notable dishes. Also worth mentioning (and ordering) are the following: Tomato Salad, Fritto Misto, Gamberetti al’Aglio, Puttanesca Pasta, Oyster Rockefeller and Lasagna.
Italian cuisine is a go-to for many Filipinos who have grown up with many of its dishes. At El Capo, they can expect the same flavors, quality ingredients and a warm and friendly dining environment. El Capo is located at the Nipa Hut Compound, Capt. Henry Javier Street, Barangay Oranbo, Pasig.
