Another thing the Belo Medical Group celebrates is the fact that it is the only aesthetic clinic partner of the Department of Tourism, taking strides towards the world of technology. Their new innovations include a glass skin filter available on Facebook and Instagram, a new and improved website for easy appointment booking, a new e-commerce experience with Belo Shop and a brand new patient check-in experience with the Belo Aesthetic Interest Questionnaire. Belo also offers new treatments that target specific concerns. The Salt Facial is a deep exfoliating treatment that Hollywood celebrities love. One of the new treatments Belo is proud to present is Skin Genius, which I got to try for myself in their flagship clinic. It is an innovative rejuvenation system that combines high-intensity focused RF (radio frequency) energy with insulated microneedling. In just 40 minutes, the treatment specifically targets skin laxity, pigmentation and textural issues.
“The reason Skin Genius would be very good for you is that it will not only tighten, but also improve the quality of your skin overall. It’s going to tighten pores in problem areas such as the nose and chin,” shared Dr. Vicki Belo. “Your skin is relatively healthy and has collagen, but the fact that you have small lines on your forehead already means that there are less elastic fibers so your skin does not bounce back as easily,” she added. As someone in my mid-20s, I know aging is a concern that is better dealt with earlier.
Before the Skin Genius treatment, numbing crea, was added on my face to minimize the potential pain from the machine. During the treatment, I barely felt anything, just gentle pressure on my face. I learned that what sets this treatment apart from other microneedling ones is the fact that its settings can change to fit your specific needs using Tissue Impedance Feedback. By monitoring your tissue, the provider customizes the settings based on your gender, age, skin color and treatment area.
In no time, Dr. Belo was finished. Immediately after the procedure, I first felt my jawline feel slightly tighter. I was red from the pricking, which was expected, but it went away the next day. In the days that followed, my skin cleared up to reveal a smoother, more even complexion. I was told that collagen production will only improve in the months to come, which I’m definitely excited to observe.
