Coming into the room, Kisses Delavin radiates an effervescence about her. The wide-eyed 19-year-old beauty is captivating in her own right—able to command a room with a flash of her endearing smile and it wasn’t far-fetched to believe how she was chosen as a Making MEGA star. Flying out to her first international shoot in the enchanting scape of Czech Republic, Delavin traversed the land of stories strutting her best poses against medieval castles and gothic churches; a landscape truly fit for a princess. Engulfed in her blossoming youth, what lies beneath her gleeful disposition and semblance of fragility is a tough, self-aware young lady strengthened by her cumbersome life experiences as a child. But now as a fullfledged adult, Delavin rises staunch and unshakable—continuing her ascent as a breakthrough artist. Since her awe-inspiring feat in Making MEGA, the star notes how much she has learned from the dream-like adventure—greatly improving in her work and knowing how to handle herself better.

And while she celebrates these small but worthwhile achievements, Delavin sets even bigger goals for herself, such as evolving her acting abilities and being able to turn on the switch as soon as the director calls action. “Gusto ‘kong ma-tick off sa list, ‘yung pagbigay sayo [ng script], memorized mo na agad, alam mo na agad yung emotions. Ayun yung pinakamaganda,” she shares. One would think that Delavin would be used to the stardom by now but she takes refuge from the strong current and takes inspiration from serenity—leaving herself with her thoughts. “I’m most inspired [by] the calm moments na napapaisip ka na lang na I’m so blessed, I have all these things going on in my life. Sometimes when it’s quiet, you think about everything you have [and] that’s when you are more inspired to do more than what is asked of you,” she says with a radiant smile.

At this point in time, half a year after Making MEGA, she seems to be at her absolute best—hinting big projects in the works and armed with a positive frame of mind; determined and forward-thinking. “My goal for now is to do my best with everything that I’m given; [to] do it with full of love that I don’t waste a day doing it without passion.”

After all her battles, Kisses Delavin comes out strong and unscathed, revved up and ready to take on the world.—SS

There’s something so enthralling about Maymay Entrata. Whether it’s her exuberant personality or honesty and candidness that piqued the nation’s attraction since her triumph in Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7, it’s not at all hard to fall in love with this spirited young lady. If there’s one girl that we can say is ruling the industry the right now, it’s her. Being a part of a successful loveteam with co-PBB housemate, Edward Barber, we can attest that she’s already quite the power player in her own right despite being a newcomer—armed with a sizable dedicated following and copious projects.

Entrata has already earned the hearts of millions preceding her exit (and victory) from the famed yellow house but after her astounding Making MEGA milestone, she soared even higher and bloomed into one Maymay we’ve never seen before—spunky and self-assured which radiated through her remarkable photos shot against the enchanting landscapes of Germany. “Simula nung high school ako, navi-visualize ko pa lang, paano kaya kung nasa posisyon din ako ng pagiging modelo? Maraming nagsasabi, ‘May, bagay ka sa modeling pero syempre nung time na yun, wala pa kong confidence,’” she quips and illustrates how she used to search posing videos on YouTube to aid her in modeling competitions—a pursuit which was essentially financial driven. But in this venture, she came to realize her dream and find motivation to chase it, despite several rejections. “Doon nagsimula na. Kahit kaunti, hindi man ako nananalo, parang doon na nagsimula na nangangarap ako.”

Not only was the Germany adventure a surreal experience for Entrata, this also brought her great confidence and started discovering things in herself she never knew existed. “Nung simula akong pumasok sa showbiz at pinakilala sa akin ‘yung MEGA family, sobrang saya ko kasi yung maliit na confidence na meron ako, pinalawak. May mga bagay na nadiskubre ko sa sarili ko at ngayon, malaki ang pasasalamat ko sa kanila,” she explains and flashing us that wide, dazzling smiile everyone has come to love her for.

One big realization this dreamer has come upon is to take advantage of the moment and give her all while it’s in front of her. “Hangga’t andyan, gawin mo. Hindi mo man alam anong magiging resulta pero hangga’t andyan, ibigay mo yung best mo.” At this point in her career, Entrata looks to checking many more dreams off her list but ultimately wants to keep focusing on the present. “Sa ngayon, kailangan ko muna maging kuntento sa kung anong meron ako, yung pagiging aktres na. Pero balang araw, yung pagiging modelo, isa sa mga nilu-look forward ko. Siguro maraming taon pa pero hindi naman madaling kunin yun, kaya ngayon, kuntento muna ako sa meron ako pero marami akong pangarap,” she voices.

What was an idealistic young lass from the province is now an accomplished star. Entrata is the personification of shooting for the moon—never letting setbacks stop her from reaching her goals. “Ngayon masasabi ko, mas naging focused na ako, mas lumalawak yung isipan ko at mas marami akong natutunan ngayon,” she expresses and even conveys being a beacon of hope for people who are dreamers like her but advises that they should always have a fallback, a plan B.

“Ang masasabi ko sa mga fans, may mga bagay talaga na akala mo hanggang diyan lang, akala mo wala ka nang way. Audition ako ng audition sa pagiging artista tapos nag-aaral ako kasi hindi ko naman alam kung para sa akin yun, at least meron naman akong pag-aaral na siguardo akong makaka-graduate ako. ‘Wag na ‘wag kang titigil na hanapin kung ano talaga yung para sayo. At mas maganda kung maabot mo yung mga pangarap mo kasama mo yung mga inspirasyon mo sa buhay,” she speaks, steadfast insight flowing from her words.

For now, it might seem like Maymay Entrata is at the peak, but she’s just getting started. With this wisdom and maturity above her years, there’s no doubt that this star will shine even brighter.—SS
