POWER TO THE PEOPLE

-

It’s been MEGA’s tradition to celebrate Pinoy Pride every June. In fact, this month, MEGA marks its own decade of Pinoy Pride history. What started out in 2010 as an initiative to promote Philippine Fashion has seen its reach expand far beyond our own industry. The Pinoy Pride and now New PH issue has becPme a medium that details the successes and milestones of individuals and groups that make us proud to be Filipinos. They are modern day heroes and undoubtedly figures we should aspire to be. From fashion, music, business, education, agriculture, politics and the arts, these people inspired us with their visionary thinking, creativity and courage. We believe that the current pandemic and the resulting social, cultural and economic struggles we are experiencing has made this movement even more timely. In this challenging times, we want to let the Filipinos who are speaking out and taking a stand know that we see you. Today’s heroes, many nameless under their masks, are right up there with the past individuals who have inspired us with their spirit and desire for change. May their stories be a validation that all of us can contribute to the bigger picture. May their accomplishments encourage us to be better in everything we do. And as we face these uncertain times of doubt and fear, may we realize that the power to make a difference is always within us.

Power to the people indeed.

We hope you enjoy this issue.
