It has been established that fashion has the ability to transform and transport. Transform one’s mood, appearance, and even life. But more signifiicantly, it has the ability to make you dream—to escape from reality and conjure fantasies. This is the premise of our November 2020 issue. Fashion may have taken a backseat because of our current situation, but we urge you to dream a little and see fashion as an outlet that can uplift, inspire and provide joy even during times of uncertainty.
For us in MEGA, fashion has always been and will be a dream. Every issue, every page is a product of our creative aspiration, our wishes told via visual imprints that sum up our current thoughts and feelings shared and imparted to the reader. With our work through fashion we hope to be able to take you somewhere magical, where dreams can become a reality.
While it is free to dream, it is also up to us to make it come into fruition.
Take our cover personality, Hannah Locsin, for example. The fresh-faced Filipina model currently making waves on international runways has only been modeling full-time for two years, but has already walked Paris, Milan and London Fashion Weeks. She has also bagged major campaigns, including highly coveted luxury brand Gucci—all while she fiinished college. It took sacrifiice, dedication, time spent away from family, and for her, one risky haircut that clearly paid offf. Individuals like her inspire dreamers like us to reach for ours, giving us hope that our passions and intent in life are achievable.
In this fiirst for MEGA, we also enlisted New York-based photographer Danilo Hess and former MEGA artist and photographer Lea Valenzuela to collaborate and take us into a surreal adventure. As MEGA Associate Creative Director Jann Pascua explains, “Because even as we spend more time at home, or even step into our new reality, it is still important to look into the beauty of things around us and be hopeful.”
You sleep to dream; you must be awake to realize it.
In this issue we also offfiicially launch MEGA ENT, our offfiicial foray into show business. With curated and focused content, via our pick of relevant cover stars every month, we hope to be able to present meaningful celebrity milestones, experiences, exclusives, and yes, revelations through storytelling.
