MEGA

BOLD MOVES

-

As the old adage goes, “change is the only permanent thing in the world”. To be able to grow, one needs to step out of one’s comfort zone and take risks. This is especially true with MEGA, which had to go through a lot of changes to get to where it is today. To remain relevant after three decades is no easy feat and it takes openness and adaptability to survive. This is applicable not only in the world of publishing, but in any industry. The challenge is to recognize cultural shifts in the landscape and act swiftly. We live in a world that is constantly changing, so we have no choice but to evolve with it. For a publication like MEGA, which started 30 years ago, it is important to take this idea to heart, but at the same time, it needs to be steadfast in its core–never forgetting its purpose. Trends might come and go, platforms will change, but one thing remains: purpose. Expect MEGA to be there to entertain, and to document and share milestones and stories you should know about in the years to come.

This month, we also put the spotlight on Star Magic, as they celebrate their 30th anniversary. As one of the most successful talent management agencies in the country, they have produced some of the biggest stars and celebrities who continue to dominate show business. They have the knack to spot talents, grow their potential, maintain their popularity, and achieve longevity, to name a few. Like any company in the digital age, they, too, have made adjustments and explored the digital platforms.

In this issue, we get to know fresh new talents: Belle, Andrea, Francine, Jayda, Alexa, and Charlie—Star Magic’s next batch of bright young stars. With millions of followers, countless projects, and a growing number of endorsements, they are undoubtedly the new crop of girls who will be monopolizing your screen time soon.

We’ve also rounded up a roster of new designers. In Honor Roll, we feature the creative works of the new graduates of the College of Saint Benilde Fashion and Merchandising program. Through them we see that the world of fashion will be filled with brave souls. For our Cover Story, we highlight the bold and colorful pieces of Rian Fernandez and Job Dacon, two fairly new fashion designers, who are already making waves in the international scene.

Plus, we have exclusive interviews with Laurenti Dyogi, who talks about the biggest role of his life as the head of Star Magic; and Enchong Dee, who lives his life fighting for his beliefs.

Enjoy the issue!
